Summit Public Radio & TV was well-represented and well-received at the first-ever Summit County Volunteer Fair on Feb 9, from 4-7 pm in Frisco. This first-ever Volunteer Fair provided a great forum for some 41 local organizations to get the word out about their organizations and solicit volunteers.
Thanks to Dyann, who pulled everything together, we had one of the larger exhibits there. Highlighted by a new poster-board that not only clearly stated our value proposition, but also listed all of our current FM, HD and DTV offerings.
Throughout the Volunteer Fair, we were able to engage many local folk, and answer their questions about what SPRTV does, our relationship to Mountain Public Radio and National Public Radio (and specific NPR stations we broadcast), and how to get DTV at home. The great news is about a third of those who stopped by signed-up as potential volunteers, and also asked to get our e-Signal newsletter.
Don’t be surprised to see us out and about this summer at farmers markets, street fairs and other local events where we can meet our listeners/viewers (like you!).
In the mean time, check-out the awesome poster-board Dyann created for this, and future outreach events.
