SPRTV is seeking new members to join its Board of Directors and help guide the organization into the future.
All skill sets are welcome, with particular need for experience in marketing, outreach, fundraising, strategic planning, technology, or engineering to support membership growth and maintain our FM radio and TV rebroadcast systems.
Director of Engineering (Volunteer)
Role Overview: Are you a broadcast enthusiast, RF expert, or systems engineer looking to make a massive local impact? SPRTV is seeking a volunteer Director of Engineering to oversee the technical heartbeat of our organization. You will lead the high-level system design and ongoing maintenance of our broadcasting infrastructure, ensuring high-quality radio and television signals reach homes across Summit County.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the architectural design, upgrades, and maintenance of SPRTV’s broadcasting and translator systems.
- Troubleshoot technical signal issues and manage equipment performance.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on hardware acquisitions and system modernizations.
Ideal Qualifications: Background in broadcast engineering, RF systems, electrical engineering, or complex systems infrastructure.
Director of Site Operations (Volunteer)
Role Overview:
If you love high-altitude logistics and keeping critical infrastructure humming, we need you. SPRTV is looking for a Director of Site Operations to take ownership of our vital Baldy Shack electronics facility on Bald Mountain. This role is perfect for a hands-on manager who thrives on maintaining facility integrity against harsh Colorado elements (and curious local wildlife).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the physical maintenance, security, and structural integrity of the Baldy Shack electronics facility.
- Coordinate seasonal site access, winterization, and weather-proofing efforts.
- Oversee structural repairs, environmental controls (heating/cooling), and “critter-proofing” to protect sensitive equipment.
Ideal Qualifications: Experience in facilities management, property maintenance, construction oversight, or rugged-environment logistics.
Project Manager (Volunteer)
Role Overview:
Keep our mission moving forward! SPRTV is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Project Manager to orchestrate infrastructure projects and keep our regulatory compliance seamless. You will be the bridge between compliance requirements and on-the-ground execution, managing everything from FCC documentation to vendor relationships for site repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and ensure compliance with FCC regulations and look ahead at filing deadlines.
- Manage the timely submission of annual renewals, forestry/land use permits, and routine administrative filings.
- Source, and coordinate local vendors and contractors for routine and ad-hoc infrastructure maintenance.
- Build timelines and drive execution for active capital improvement and repair projects.
Ideal Qualifications: Background in project management, legal/regulatory compliance, or operations.
